OR if you want the literal meaning: Paul originally wrote this song for Julian Lennon to comfort him when his parents were going through a divorce. (First it was "Hey Jules" but Paul changed it to "Hey Jude" which was more singable...or something...) |

Micky Dolenz wrote this song about his trip to England: what he did and saw there. The lyric "the four kings of EMI" refer to the Beatles. And lyric about the girl in a yellow dress refers to his future wife, Samantha Juste. The title was allegedly inspired by a line in a T.V. show, but since it was an offensive phrase in the U.K. Micky was asked for an alternate title so he promptly renamed it "Alternate Title". |

Michael Nesmith wrote this song as a veiled commentary on the 1966 Sunset Strip riots. (Also possibly the first pop recording to use a Moog Synthesizer) |

George Harrison wrote this song about his days when he was a Beatle. (The Beatles were sometimes called "the Fab Four", especially during Beatlemania.) |
