As transcribed here, "Ballet and calypsos" … seems to be about a bunch of teds in tutus practicing plies at the barre. This is not the lyric - it's ballads and calypsos. Ian Samwell - who wrote Move It - was responding to a comment on the radio by the jazz critic Steve Race, who expressed a hope that the rock 'n' roll craze would be replaced by ballads. Calypso was another popular craze at the time, esp Harry Belafonte, who has much to apologize for.
