Nobody really knows the reasons behind Biffy Clyro's lyrics. Perhaps the darkness it takes to reach love explains 'love is a shadow'. Perhaps because the shadow is always with you, follows you, wherever you go, just like love almost. And once it is shown the brightness it is no longer there, disappears. Dead.
