Accepting that God has what's best for you, at all times, is part of growing in faith and trust. Not knowing why things happen is part of that cycle. If we always knew why we were being tested, we would attempt to skip to the outcome and not "really" grow.

He knew he was blessed by God, he thought because he was blessed, everything he did was blessed and he began to act that way, causing his brothers to resent him, hate him even.

He was so sure that he was blessed of God that he started to believe and act on that. He was so sure he was right that he couldn't see that his "right-ness" was causing his brothers to hate him.
