This group songs are really complicated to understand, in order to do so you have to be real open minded about what posibilities.
My first impression of this song is that he believed in God but something really bad happened in his life that now he does not believe in what God has to offer if not he rather just die and go to hell.
Now he just lives his life as it pleases the devil but for some reason still searches God in the morning star hoping that he might still go to heaven.
