That analogy also works well for the song, axbeautifulxliex, but that's why I love when artists don't give a direct meaning. It means the song is open for interpretation and we all get to make these (most of the time) educated guesses. Some hold more truth than others, but I suppose we'll never know until we are told by the artists themselves. |

at this site: http://despairfaction.com/showthread.php?t=75972 a guy (Sebastian at 08-12-06, 12:16 AM) said ""I would gladly bet my life upon that the ghost you love(jesus), your ray of light(faith) will fizzle out, without hope." My two cents"
I have to say that I somewhat agree. |

I never knew what could have happened to Johnny when I listened to this song way back when, but now, I wonder if Hanson was trying to put forth a song over teenage angst leading to suicide or something of the like... |

I doubt that, seeing as the second verse is about someone's crash. It'd be more closely related to Mickey Mouse than to an overpowering sense of duty toward love. |

Party slick: I love being an American, however I can't stand the way our government has been handling many of the issues that have come up thus far in recent history. (were you saying that I said that or were you saying you agree that he doesn't hate America? Because I never said he hated the US) |

I doubt that Serj has no respect for America. I don't think that he would chose to live here if he didn't. There are many free countries that he could benefit from living in. He may have little to no respect for how America has handled it's problems as of late, and how we all have sat idly by and let our government lead us into these circumstances. |

To SystemOFaDownchik13, you can't really say that it was the Muslims who did it. Yes a sect of Islam decided to attack the United States because, to them, we are evil and we're spreading our evil throughout the world. Tradition speaks for itself in places all over the world. When you are brought up to respect the traditions of your family and your people, you will protect it because you know it to be the right thing to do, regardless of how other people view it. Sure many Christians died at the hands of that sect of Islam, but it wasn't about killing Christians (more than just Christians died that day, they were all people) , it was about destroying the "Evil West." Religion only mattered in the fact that most of the US is not Muslim. |

I think that it is more that governments, ours especially, buy everyone to do what they want them to do. It's sad that most get suckered into it. At the end of it all, we are the ones who are suffering, not our governments; which are supposed to be doing what is best for us, not themselves. |

Perhaps we are all, to some degree, correct. It could be about rectifying the mistakes that we have all made in relation to electing certain jerks to office which has taken it's own toll on our environment. Either way, our "civilization" is pretty much f*ck*d. |

SOAD isn't broken...Serj is taking a small leave of absence to do his solo thing which is helping others to see that waiting around and doing nothing is not going to change the world, starting with the US, to the way it needs to be.
SOAD will be back. |

The people were all holding signs...some were helpful to everyone, others cause pain, few caused both. All that really matters were the two at the end, the ones that lead to compassion. |
