"
Make me scream your screams
"Make me scream your screams"; the fact that the song ends on this line suggests, I think, that the person who had become a victim of showbiz, and had been forced to scream someone else's screams, dream someone else's dreams, has made those screams his. By taking his own life, killed by 'showbiz'.

Trying to please you for too long
Trying to please you for too long
In visions of greed you wallow
Visions of greed you wallow
Visions of greed you wallow
Visions of greed you wallow
"Trying to please you for too long, Visions of greed you wallow, Rhythms of greed you wallow." Greed has become a part of you because that is what the industry has since forced you to be, and the more you have to live with it, the more it destroys you, makes you 'wallow' and makes you miserable.

And they make me
Make me dream your dreams
And they make me
Make me scream your screams
"They make me dream your dreams; They make me scream your screams." Even your pain isn't your own anymore; everything you are and everything you are not is owned by the showbiz industry.

sacrifice
To drain
"Something shiny" here may be referring to money, and to how, in the past, the Church demanded the people to give it money, called 'indulgences'. These 'indulgences' were said to be paid so that the person who gave them would be have their sins forgiven by God, ie. they had to pay to 'keep the Goddess on my side'. Here, Hozier makes the point that money is not the main currency anymore; flesh - 'meat' - is. Therefore, he is paying the Goddess with sacrifices.

me that deathless death
Good God, let me
These two lines, "Offer me that deathless death, Good God, let me give you my life", are I think a testament to the fact that he doesn't believe that this "God" can offer you a death without death. They are ironic, dramatic, much like the rest of the chorus.

Meaning
If you think about it, you'll remember that we often hear about how becoming famous tends to 'change' people. Thus what 'Showbiz' is about. Showbiz is the entire commercial world in a nut shell. It controls you in the first place, then forces you to become the darkest part of you, the very thing you've been trying to control from the beginning. It turns you into a self-destructing machine, something so close to its feelings and to itself that it could go insane at anytime. And just when you think you're about to loose it, 'showbiz' sets you off again, on a trail that is not yours, change you and shape your public image so that the image that people out there have of you isn't YOU anymore; it's the person that 'showbiz' has made you into. I think this song is ultimately about how 'showbiz' doesn't change 'us' exactly, but rather the way we are seen and portrayed to the public. And about how that pressure can make someone suffer so much they'd want to die.
