He is saying God is the real thing, and people who don't believe are sending false rhythms or false messages. some people find every excuse to not believe because they are scared to, but these unbelievers need to understand that the Lord does not come to damn you, he comes to help you, it is hard to believe but you have to in order to go to Heaven. He is saying it is easier for people to resort to violence and hatred because it is what everyone is surrounded by in this world. You can't just live for today you must think of life with God, and the road to that is going up to Heaven, and some people fall and make mistakes but keep climbing and redeem their sins, or some people fall and give up on believing and "lose the rest" which means they will see darkness and go nowhere.

he's lost just like everybody in this corrupt world are at tough times. the only thing saving him is God, and since he realized this, he has taken the first step, which is very good compared to a lot of people in this world who don't believe, which is the greatest sin. He will find the way at least he is on the right road to trusting God, every good Christian has doubts at times it is only human.
