I think in this song the person is talking to someone they love, however, he/she is torn between just being with this one person for love and the temptation of lust for others. That's why he/she is saying "I'm going in the for the kill, I'm doing for the thrill..I'm hoping you'll understand and not let go of my hand". He/she is letting he person they love know that they are only doing it for the thrill of the sexual encounter and that's it.
