I may not be right but I think the song is basically about yo-yo dating, or so it seems. It's saying that every time, the relationship fails, but they try it again and again and that they should give up but somehow, it's hard to stop. It's like a game and nothing changes but they just keep repeating it.
If it's not that, it's what bravadious said. Or something else. I don't know.
