Whatevertomorrowbrings is right about this song.
I mean, I notice that people either read too much or too little into a song.
The song actually has nothing to do with religion, but with the reasoning that we are all born into a world with temptation, and unfortunately we all sucumb one way or another
whether because of desperate times, or for cheap thrills, no one is innocent.
I think it also tries to show sympathy to the "lowlifes" when the only reason we are so different from them is they have a much harder situation than most of us
But bottom line, we are all wicked, and the only time that we can escape that is when we die.
