It's about your choices and its between hurting yourself (cutting) and writing about it and in the video it shows the kid and how he writes about his life instead of hurting himself that's what I got from this whole song it has some really deep meaning and it is true if you don't find a way to relive you anger or stress or what ever you end up inflicting damage upon yourself or others.
