Why, you just won't leave my mind
Was this the only way
I couldn't let you stay

Run away, hide away
The secrets in your mind
Sacrificed just her life
For a higher love

No matter how many stones you put inside
She always keeps on floating in your mind
With every turn of your head you see her face again
Until the end, over and over again

Why, you just won't leave my mind
Was this the only way
I couldn't let you stay

Told the truth she laughed at you
Something snapped inside
She had to go or they would know
All you tried to hide

The sins of your life are now catching up with you.
You can't stay ahead, there's nothing you can do
With every turn of your head you see her face again
Until the end, over and over again

Why, you just won't leave my mind
Was this the only way
I couldn't let you stay

(Repeat 2x)

To me this is obviously about a murder.
The chorus is about him not being able to forgive himself for what he did.
When it says 'why won't you just leave my mind' it's about him not being able to get rid of the guilt. He can't forget what he is done and feels awful. 'i couldn't let you stay' is him trying to justify the murder.
The first verse is about him trying to forget the murder- 'run away, hide away, the secrets in your mind. ' when it says 'no matter how many stones you put inside, she always keeps on floating in your mind' is a metaphor. When people dispose of bodies they weigh them down with stones and throw them into a lake or canal. This is saying that although he's tried to weigh the murder down in his mind, it keeps rising to the top and he can't hide what he has done.
The second verse explains more about why he killed her. 'told the truth, she laughed at you,' obviously means he told her a secret that meant a lot to him and she laughed at him and didn't understand. Fearing she would tell others his secret he killed her- 'she had to go or they would know, all you tried to hide. '

Such emotion tribute to the voiceless minority. The song is about the psychic scars that are inflicted when someone aborts a living fetus. I'm personally pro choice, but Sharon is a devout believer in Christianity. So, I'm concluding that is the repression that women do when they act contraily to their belief system. She constantly see her face, as a remainder of her guilt. Many women that conclude this always wonder what their child looks like, the first time they walk, and all the achievements and milestone attained in their life. Their shame and regret consumes until they break because of building pressure. Like a dam that can't bypass the growing floodwaters, they suffer from an instantaneous mental meltdown, and often need supervision because the internal turmoil is so great.
