Vonda Shepard – Neighborhood lyrics
Written by Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller, John Sembello & Ralph Dino

Here's a photo I've been looking for
It's a picture of the boy next door
And I loved him more than words can say
Never knew it 'til he moved away

Faded pictures in my scrapbook
Just thought I'd take one more look
And recall when we were all
In the neighborhood
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Here's a photo of the neighborhood
Here's the corner where we stood
Here's a snapshot of Dad's old car
Never got us very far

Faded pictures in my scrapbook
Just thought I'd take one more look
And recall when we were all
In the neighborhood

And all those friends
Where did they go, I don't know
All those friends we used to know
In the neighborhood

My dad wrote this. It must be nice to put your name on a great song just because you're producers. My dad wrote this song when I was a little girl. I remember him sitting at the piano and writing words and scratching them out and writing all night long. I remember putting a pillow over my head at 4 am cause he was still working on a song and he couldn't go to sleep til he finished the line. I would think 'omg when will that f*%king line be done! Good memories. Jerry and Mike who?

Dear whoever added my dads name to the song. Thank you for adding their names. John Sembello died a couple of years ago. My dad is parking cars in a college parking lot. So he is living the line in the song... And all those stars who never were are parking cars and pumping gas. Or whatever that line was.
