Vaughn Monroe – There I've Said It Again lyrics

There, I've Said It Again
Vaughn Monroe

I love you, there's nothing to hide
It's better than burning inside
I love you, no use to pretend
There, I've said it again

I've said it, what more can I say
Believe me, there's no other way
I love you, I will to the end
There, I've said it again

I've tried to drum up
A phrase that would sum up
All that I feel for you
But what good are phrases
The thought that amazes
Is you love me, and it's heavenly

Forgive me for wanting you so
But one thing I want you to know
I've loved you since heaven knows when
There, I've said it again

[Musical interlude]

Forgive me for wanting you so
But one thing I want you to know
I've loved you since heaven knows when
There I go, there I've said it again

Girls always think guys have a problem with commitment and showing their feelings, particularly when it comes to saying "i love you. ". This guy was likely told by his girl he has commitment problems and never says I love you to her. Deep down he knows she's right. He loves her madly and doesn't want to lose her so foolishly. When he finally brings himself to say "i love you", he wants to make sure she knows she's getting what she always wanted from him.
In affect, he's saying, " it took me a while and it may be a long time before it happens again so please pay attention". His determination to convince her of his sincerity is evident as he becomes progressively more committal, taking his 'i love you' from being at the moment to forever. This guy needs a new spine.
