Vanessa Williams – Rise Up Shepherd lyrics

There's a star in the East on Christmas morn,
Rise up shepherd and follow.
It will lead to the place where the Saviour's born,
Rise up shepherd and follow.

Follow, follow,
Rise up shepherd and follow.
Follow the star of Bethlehem.
Rise up shepherd and follow.

Leave your sheep and leave your lambs
Rise up shepherd and follow.
Leave you ewes and leave your rams.
Rise up shepherd and follow.

Follow, follow,
Rise up shepherd and follow.
Follow the star of Bethlehem.
Rise up shepherd and follow.

If you take good heed to the angel's words.
Rise up shepherd and follow.
You'll forget your flocks; you'll forget your herds.
Rise up shepherd and follow.

Follow, follow,
Rise up shepherd and follow.
Follow the star of Bethlehem.
Rise up shepherd and follow.

This song is a gift from god. It is a call to follow the love and the joy that is jesus christ in the purest sense of the spirit of christmas. It asks that we put down all the cares of the world and find the beauty that is god's creation within ourselves at this time and always for peace and goodwill toward all men. It is a beautiful call! It puts a smile on every face within its hearing. A carol for the soul at a time when we need it most. Thank you.
