(feat. Ben Harper)

Vanessa:
Й sу isso
Nгo tem mais jeito
Acabou, boa sorte

Nгo tenho o que dizer
Sгo sу palavras
E o que eu sinto
Nгo mudarб

Tudo o que quer me dar
Й demais
Й pesado
Nгo hб paz

Tudo o que quer de mim
Irreais
Expectativas
Desleais

Ben Harper:
That's it
There's no way
It's over
Good luck

I've nothing left to say
It's only words
And what l feel
Won't change

Vanessa da Mata/Ben Harper:
Tudo o que quer me dar
(Everything you want to give me)
Й demais
(It's too much)
Й pesado
(It’s heavy)
Nгo hб paz
(There is no peace)
Tudo o que quer de mim
(All you want from me)
Irreais
(Isn’t real)
Expectativas
(Expectations)
Desleais

Vanessa:
Mesmo se segure
Quero que se cure
Dessa pessoa
Que o aconselha

Hб um desencontro
Veja por esse ponto
Hб tantas pessoas especiais

Ben Harper:
Now even if you hold yourself
I want you to get cured
From this person
Who advises you

There is a disconnection
See through this point of view
There are so many
Special people in the world
So many special
People in the world
In the world
All you want
All you want

Vanessa da Mata/Ben Harper:
Tudo o que quer me dar
(Everything you want to give me)
Й demais
(It's too much)
Й pesado
(It's heavy)
Nгo hб paz
(There's no peace)

Tudo o que quer de mim
(All you want from me)
Irreais
(isn’t real)
Expectativas
(That expectations)
Desleais

Vanessa da Mata/Ben Harper:
Now we're falling
Falling, falling
Falling into the night
Into the night
Falling, falling, falling
Falling into the night
Um bom encontro й de dois
Now we're falling
Falling, falling
Falling into the night
Into the night
Falling, falling, falling
Falling into the night

Correction... In english, it could be from a woman to a man or the other way around. But in portuguese, it's clear that's to a man because of the verse "que o aconselha". If it were to a woman, it'd be "que a aconselha". Neutral forms would be "que aconselha vocÊ" or "que te aconselha", but the writer wanted to make it clear it's to a man. Except for this detail and the lack of the word "desleais" ("unloyal" or "unfair") translated into the english version, they are saying exactly the same in both languages, though there isn't much of poetry or rhymes in english.

It's about a couple that are together and the one person wants to or needs to end it while the other feels the opposite way.

One couple that had to break up, mainly because one had another person. And the singer says, good luck to his/her new life with the other person. The "narrator" or whoever wrote it, can be both woman or man.

I believe its meant to a couple who has broken up and now one of them is trying to get back together.
