The weight
Of a simple human emotion
Weighs me down
More than the tank ever did

The pain
It's determined and demanding
To ache, but I'm okay
...

And I don't want to let this go
I don't want to lose control
I just want to see the stars with you

And I don't want to say goodbye
Someone tell me why
I just want to see the stars with you

You lost, a part of your existence
In the war, against yourself

Oh, the lights,
They light up in lights of sadness
Telling you, it's time to go

And I don't want to let this go
I don't want to lose control
I just want to see the stars with you

And I don't want to say goodbye
Someone tell me why
I just want to see the stars with you

Don't give it up just yet stay grand
For one more minute, don't give it up just yet
Stay... grand (no 2x)( 3x )

(I don't want to let) And I don't want to let this go
(I don't want to lose) I don't want to lose control
(And I just want to see) I just want to see the stars (the stars with you) with you

And I don't want to say (don't want to say) goodbye
Someone tell me why (tell me why)
I just want to see the stars (the stars with you) with you

With you

When I first heard this song I cried as much as I did when I first read The Fault in Our Stars. Well done, Troye, for making an amazing song. And John? You're still an Asshat for doing that.

I really wish they had used this song for the film. It just moulds the book to me, as much as I love Ellie Goulding I think it would of been at better choice for the ending and it could have shown a 'normal reader's perspective' on the story. I don't know how much input John Green had on the different aspects of the film but personally if I was him I would have used this song instead. Speaking of John Green, I find that the way he writes all his books makes them much more relatable and realistic because in the real world things don't always end up the way we'd want or expect them to and people do die in the way he describes, it can be scarily unexpected and close to home. That makes his works of fiction fab reads, easily loved and hated at the same time written by a realist.

"I just want to see the stars with you." I love this song so much. I wish they would have put it on the sound track for the movie. And John Green had to do what he did because the world is not a wish granting factory. And then the book wouldn't mean as much as it does to us, it wouldn't be as much a part of us. He also gave us a beautiful character to fall in love with in the 172 pages he is actually physically there. I'm grateful for our little infinity.
