I think it's a dirtier meaning than a lot of people seem to get. The first verse is a metaphor; he had a dream that this person took him "southwards"...yes? Geddit? But then it says "in reality you're not so keen to show me anything", ie. they won't sleep with him. And then the next line "and I thought you liked me" is pretty bad really, because it's basically something someone would say to guilt someone into sleeping with them. Same with the "all i wanted was some evidence that you really liked me", which implies that SURELY if you like someone at all you'd have sex with them. Lol.
And the "stuff piling up, filling up and taking up" is probably refering to the sexual urges and that.
So much for people thinking the song is sweet! xD
