When I was a child
I could see the wind in the trees
And I heard a song in the breeze
It was there, singing out my name

But I am not a girl
I have known the taste of defeat
And I have finally grown to believe
It will all came around again

Coro:
And though I may not
Know the answers
I can finally say I am free
And if the questions
Led me here, then
I am who I was born to be

And so here am I
Open arms and ready to stand
I've got the world in my hands
And it feels like my turn to fly

Repit coro

When I was a child
There were flowers that bloomed in the night
Unafraid to take in the light
Unashamed to have braved the dark

Repit coro
And ends: I am who I was born to be
I am who I was born to be.

I think it's about hope and acceptance. As a child, you see all the possibilities, but then as you experience life you encounter obstacles. You may even question, "why me? ". You may blame others for your situation. You may be hanging on to anger or bitterness. The circumstances that got you to where you are today were meant to be. Even though you may not have it all figured out, you are who you are today because of those obstacles. Once you have accepted (no blame, no guilt), you can be free. Once you've accepted yourself for who you are, you can be free. Don't let anyone or anything hold you back - be that flower that blooms in the dark.

As a child one has not closed their souls and their spirits soar out to receive the and revel in the "here and now" simple beauty of against one's body and the music of wind through the trees. The child's spirit is so open to feelings the wind sounds like a song sang just for them. The child is who she is meant to be - an wonderful soul on earth to fulfill who she is. Yet, as we all find as we get older the world battles us to take away who we are - and deny most of us our essence, our joy, who we were meant to be. As we go through life trying to fulfill ourselves we are defeated over and over again. If one can regain and fulfill and live as who we are - only then... Are we free. And when we are free to be who we are - we soar.. We fly. We are finally who we were born to be. So very much like susan boyle's life - but, not so different than most people's life.. And that is why we cheer for her.. And love her - she is what we want to be--ourselves.. And she brings us hope. As one grows older and must battle
