Soundtracks – So Long & Thanks For All The Fish lyrics
So long and thanks for all the fish,
So sad that it should come to this,
We tried to warn you but oh dear!

You may not share our intellect,
Which might explain your disrespect,
For all the natural wonders that grow, a-round you,
So long, So long, and thanks, for all the fish.

The worlds about to be destroyed,
There's no point getting all annoyed,
Lie back and let the planet dissolve. (all around you)

Despite those nets of tuna fleets,
We thought that most of you were sweet,
Especially tiny tots in your preg-nant, wo-men,
So long, So long, So long, So long, So long,
(High voice) So long, So long, So long, So long, So long, So long,
So long, So long, and thanks, for all the fish.

(High voice) if I just had just one last wish I would like a tasty fish,
(Low voice) if we could just change one thing, we would all have loved to sing!

(Choir) So long and thanks for all the fish,
(Choir) So sad that it should come to this,
(Choir) We tried to warn you all of those years, oh dear.

Apparently, there’s no agreement on whether the line is, “We would have loved to sing,“ “we would have learned to sing,“ or, “we would have lungs to sing“ (as the closed captions had it). Someone really should have a definitive transcription somewhere. (I guess I’m a few words short of 50.)
