[If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because, everything would be what it isn't]

I invite you to a world where there is no such thing as time,
And every creature lends themselves to change your state of mind,
And the girl that chase the rabbit, drank the wine, and took the pill,
Has locked herself in limbo to see how it truly... feels.

To stand outside your virtue,
No one can ever hurt you.

Or so they say.

(CHORUS)
Her name is Alice [Alice],
She crawls into the window,
Through shapes and shadows.
Alice [Alice],
And even though she's dreaming,

She knows...

Sometimes the curiosity can kill the soul but leave the pain,
And every ounce of innocence is left inside her... brain.
And through the looking glass, we see she's painfully returned,
But now off with her head, I fear is everyone's concern.

You see there's no real ending,
It's only the beginning.

Come out and play.

(CHORUS)

She's unlocked the meaning for you.

This kingdom,
Good riddance,
Good freedom,
And innocence,
Has brought this whole thing,
DOWN...

(CHORUS)

She's unlocked the meaning for you

(Red knights, white knights, marching into the fight. Drink me, shrink me, fill me to sink me. x2)

She's unlocked the meaning for you.

[And contrariwise, what it is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?]

I feel like i'm overreaching, but i think this song is also about someone who overdoses on some sort of pill, out of curiosity, and sends themselves into a coma, and when she (or he, i guess) wakes up, the person realises that they just messed up their life, and want to go back, but can't.
And perhaps they got addicted to whatever they took? I'm not an expert on how these things work.
This is what happens when you listen to a song too often, lol.

The intro and outro especially represent a self inflicted distorted reality. Alice establishes that everything is reversed and therefore makes no sense. But realises that she is forcing it to not make sense to ignore the fact that her tragedy is really happening to her.

The rest of the song is in surreal metaphor that helps her escape reality by making the situation seem more bizarre and unreasonable than it really is, that her sobering danger is not real.

Don't mistake me, I dont think that the song is about the character from "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the looking glass, and what Alice found there" but actually about a realistic person with realistic problems like drug and alcohol abuse or money problems or someone who has found themself acquainted with peers of a negative influence.

I'd really like to know what the part "Red knights, white knights... Eat me drink me... " means it sounds pretty important but I cant quite work it out. As a whole I dont think that the poster on April 13, 2012 wasn't too far off the mark, but I'd never considered the possibility that they want to start over again. That's a fairly interesting idea.

That nothing is ever what it seems. That even the safest places can be the darkest, and that the people you think can trust may very well be your enemies. I think it means never take everything for granted or at face value.
