Arms are raised above the sky,
But all I want is me

You are there beside the night
But all I want is me
All I want is me.

Love we know
Comes from inside,
But all I want is me,
All I want is me.

Death we know
Comes to us alive
But all I want is you,

Death we know
Comes to all of us alive
But all I want is you,
All I need is you,
All I want.

This album is in line with reocuring themes that are aproaced and adressed in different ways threw this album. In this song he starts off with an image that one might find at a church. "arms are raised above the sky" he then gives internal feelings of self fufillment "all i want is me" the second part gives an impressions related to religion again. "you were there beside the night" light/ day is the answer to what is beside, or apart from, the night. Religiously speeking that would be god. Once again we are told that isn't enough to change the self serving feelings. "all i want is me". "love we know comes from inside" this line draws the biggest conection to a personal relationship. However i would sugest that the personal relationship is the internal feelings, the relaxing of the self serving "all i want is me" but the final two sections is the song is the cristalizing feelings in the internal monolog. "death we know comes to us alive. " when faced with death all of the things that were heard threw life that were rejected in order to serve the selfish "all i want is me" adittude sound better and "all i is wanted is you" is refrencing the god that he didnt care about when he wasnt faced with death. The last one could be thought as just reiterating the aceptance of "you" in face of death but i prepose instead that the final section stated that "death we know comes to all of us alive all i want is you" is a call for death. We want god that promisis more after death and we need to die to fully acept "all i want".

    I disagree.
I hear a heart break song..
Hes giving, and gave all of himself up for love.
    Hes surrendering.
but all he wants is himself.
He feels thats he best way to move on, just wanting himself.
    he realises this isnt true.
"Death we know comes to all of us alive."
what pain other than the loss of a loved one (which too in turn creates heartache) is worse than heartbreak?
Isnt a sure way of feeling like you're dying, when you're truly alive?
    but really,
in all of his masks of only wanting himself
    he needs her (other)
    and really only wants her.

or at least this is a possibility, no?

    im also a girl..
    so

This song refers to how people confuse wants and needs, also how selfish the human race can be, always Iwant, Ineed, Give me. but also how futile greed is, because when you die it doesnt matter.

he is saying how poeple want so much from him and all wants is to have something to just to have someone there to be able to just be there not for something he has but just because they like to be around him.
