She's a gambler spinning wheels,
The poisoned victim a look of steel,
The coldest heart you've ever felt,
The coldest hands you've ever held.

Trekking down on her way,
A million miles still no headway,
Has her love truly blown,
In her mind I'm proud to roam.

She's elusive and I'm awake,
Defiantly real there's nothing fake,
A mystery now to me and you,
Open my eyes as I'm next to you,
She says my destiny lies in the hands that set me free.

A wreckless night she hears me breathe,
Cursing the skies of this company,
You've lost the wisdom deep inside,
Her bitterness shows it's side.

If it's true I am doomed,
What more is there to hold on to,
A strand of hair is all I own,
A gift to me, this sorry soul.

She's elusive and I'm awake,
Defiantly real, there's nothing fake,
A mystery now to me and you,
Open my eyes and I'm next to you,
She says my destiny, lies in the hands that set me free.

Something says this ain't right,
There's more to her than meets the eye,
She comes and goes at any time,
Back in my head til another time.

She's elusive and I'm awake,
Defiantly real, there's nothing fake,
A mystery now to me and you,
Open my eyes as I'm next to you,
She says my destiny, lies in the hands that set me free.

A guy i used to date once played this song and asked me to listen to the words. It was after we'd had a night out and a good session on the ale. He said it was me. I didn't listen at the time, i basically just mocked him as a cheesy bloke just picking a random song and saying it was for me in a bid to get into my knickers. I later listened to the lyrics when he went home and ive gotta say im not sure if he meant it as an insult or not but the song ring true never the less. In my case the song represents the violent cheating and abusive men i have been involved with in the past. To be fair i am now a bit cold hearted and now am a bit wary of guys. The last verse proved most interesting to me as i think that's when he realised yes he's attracted to me but maybe i am a bit too cold hearted for him. He gave it his best shot but now i think i'll be residing in his wank bank rather than on his arm lol. Oh well im illusive baby ;-)

I can't say I love or hate this song since I've never heard it before, but the lyrics look promising!!! It's about a woman who lives by her own rules and won't be told what to do...

This song means to me a free spirited woman, her heart is untamed "a gambler spinning wheels". Who knows to be with him but not to give her all for him, remaining elusive and dreamy to his eyes always. She's hurt in the past "A poisoned victim but look of steel" with the coldest hearts and hands shows how he's limited to how he can change her from Ice Queen to Warm Kitten type of girl. So he positions himself to know what it is like to be her, what is she thinking, what is blocking her to be with him forever "Taking down, on your way. A million miles, still no headway. As I learn to live long, In a mind I'm proud to roam." So when she is there in a physical form to him lying next to him, he cannot believe it, why would she want to be with him as either way she's a mystery with or without him in his mind.
Then the truth were told whatever this truth maybe, he doesn't like hearing it, or was unprepared or it’s a sudden catastrophe of a news his reactions were without thinking showing his bitter side he kept hidden on a "A reckless night, she hears me breathe, Cursing the sky at this company. They lost the wisdom deep inside, When bitterness shows it's side. Once she's told him what the truth or reasons why she'd been shown to be elusive all along in his mind, he then lays there thinking back on what was shown or told to him "If it's true, I am doomed,
What more is there to hold on to? A strand of her hair is all I own,
A gift to me, this sorry soul." She's obviously sorry for what she's done and said as he describes her 'this sorry soul'. But still with or without her forever he is haunted by her in his thoughts he can't believe what he had with her was real, scary and not fake, which causes the mystery as well as her being itself is a mystery too and the fact that she comes and goes at any time is all a mystery to him. Perhaps he realises after what has happened he can never have her always as "She said my destiny lies in the hands that set me free", until they can unlock the mystery of eliminating what blocks their freedom to love one another and be real forever.
