i think that this song is not actually about religion, but using it as a metaphor for breaking away from the corrupt people in the industry in Hollywood, as Los Angeles is often called "The City of Angels". When she says "Rolled the lucky pair of dice, ended up in paradise" she means she "rolled the dice" by becoming a singer and "ended up in paradise" when she moved to Los Angeles to become a big time singer. When she says "You know if I could change anything, I think I would start with the name, The truth is all those angels started acting the same " I think she is referring to wanting to change the nickname of LA, "The city of angels" and when she says "All the angels started acting the same." I think she is talking about the people in the industry just being corrupt, bad people. And when she says "Life in Eden changed" i think she means that her thoughts on Hollywood changed. I think this interpretation of the song is reasonable because Sara Barellies hasn't released any new music since the album this song appears on, The Blessed Unrest. I believe she moved from LA and is living her life as her own now.
