I Can Tell There Was An Accident Here Earlier lyrics

Betray
The Avalon is always beside me
And I'm following it home
Where is my home
Orion glows
And his eyes open up
I once believed that I would set you in line

If only I had the strength you'd be completely accepting something else

If you keep asking me I'll melt away in the summer air
It won't hurt half as much and I'll beg for you to stop it now
If you keep asking me I'll melt away in the summer air
It won't hurt half as much and I'll beg for you just tell me something

The fluid through the alpha waves and power cables everywhere
Exercising self-control
The child calls
And he lies open
I would believe if only I'd been thinking at all

If only I had the strength you'd be completely accepting something else

If you keep asking me I'll melt away in the summer air
It won't hurt half as much and I'll beg for you to stop it now
If you keep asking me I'll melt away in the summer air
It won't hurt half as much and I'll beg for you just tell me something

If you keep asking me (keep asking me) keep asking me

If only I had the strength you'd be completely accepting something else

If you keep asking me I'll melt away in the summer air
It won't hurt half as much and I'll beg for you to stop it now
If you keep asking me I'll melt away in the summer air
It won't hurt half as much and I'll beg for you just tell me something

You swore
Out like my life
You cried
So I'm engaged to smile

But you know, thinking about it, I might have an idea of what Saosin meant the song to be about. Like the first part might be saying that he feels betrayed, and he's using a star formation, I think that's what it is, to symbolize someone who is always there for him and is helping him home. And he thought that he'd be able to set a lover in line, like with the problems in a relationship.

Then the chorus could be like, his lover or the one who is always there for him keeps asking what is wrong, and he just wants to "melt away" because it hurts too much to talk about it. And he just wants to be told what went wrong.

Then in the next part, I think the fluid running through power cables lyric is supposed to symbolize blood running through veins, because when you get like really worked up or something your veins are like pulsing and it's said that your blood runs faster, and he's really trying to control himself.

Then it says, "the child calls, and he lies open". Here I think he's talking about himself in third person, maybe because he wasn't acting like he normally would or something. I think this lyric refers to the fact that children do not have a part of their brain developed that tells them to use caution, and he's saying he didn't think enough to use caution, so he opened up, which is what he didn't want to do. Then he says, "if only I'd been thinking at all", like he maybe regrets opening up.

And the "if only I had the strength, you'd be completely excepting something else" lyric. Maybe he's saying that he was faking his personality so someone would like him, and he wishes he had the strength to be himself. Or that he was lying about something that happened and he wishes he was strong enough to say what really happened.

Then the very last part. I had to think long and hard about that. "You swore out like my life" I think means that the lover figure was angered about something, maybe swearing on his life that she was telling the truth. And then "you cried so I'm engaged to your smile" could mean that the lover cried over the fight and all he wanted was for her to be happy.

But also, the last lyric could be talking about that person who was always there for him. Like "you swore out like my life" could mean that he/she swore they would help him. And they were crying because they thought he had so little faith in him/her. So he didn't want that, because they were close, so he promised that he trusted him/her.

Well, that's I think. I spent a while reading the lyrics over and over trying to figure it out, but this is a pretty hard song for me to figure out. I still love it though.

I love this song. It rather irks me that I can't wrap my head around it's meaning, because it has so much meaning to me. I have no clue what Saosin meant it to mean, but what I relate it to helps me get through a lot.

If you keep asking me I'll melt away in the summer air
(this guy who I liked asked me out, and when I said no he kept asking a few more times)
It won't hurt half as much and I'll beg for you to stop it now
(it really hurt to say no, but I did it for him because I had just been broken up with, and it wouldn't haave been fair for him to date me when I wasn't over my ex yet)
If you keep asking me I'll melt away in the summer air
(I felt like I could just dissapear, "melt away" because honestly, I'd liked this guy for eight months, it was hard to say no)
It won't hurt half as much and I'll beg for you just tell me something
(when we first met he wrote something on the park wall, and when I went to look the next day when the sun was out the rain had washed it away, so I kept saying to him "tell me, tell me, tell me" for weeks)

That's how I relate to it. I mean when I was listening to it the other day, I was like, "waoh. This is perfect." And now I find myself putting it on repeat for hours. I love the intensity of it, the beat, lyrics, everything. Saosin did a really great job on this one.
