Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs – Ju Ju Hand lyrics

Oww, we got it now

I got an alligator claw and some goofer dust
So ya better do what ya know ya must
I got a lock o your hair and a bullfrogs eye
And if you break my heart, you better say Goodbye

I got a yoko-maka, huba bakwa ju ju hand
The yoko-maka, huba bakwa sure is grand
Makes your eyes look red and your tongue turn green
The strongest mess that you ever seen

The Mojo hand used to be real strong
It kept you straight when you did me wrong
As time went by, you just got so mean
But the yoko-maka, huba bakwa is the thing

I got a yoko-maka, huba bakwa ju ju hand
The yoko-maka, huba bakwa sure is grand
Makes your eyes look red and your tongue turn green
The yoko-maka, huba bakwa makes you scream

Scream
Yoko-maka, huba bakwa

Mojo hand used to be real strong
It kept you straight when you did me wrong
As time went by, you just got so mean
But the yoko-maka, huba bakwa is the thing

I got a yoko-maka, huba bakwa ju ju hand
The yoko-maka, huba bakwa sure is grand
Makes your eyes look red and your tongue turn green
The strongest mess that you ever seen

Oww!

Yoko-maka, huba bakwa ju ju hand

Spoken Yoko-maka, huba bakwa ju ju hand

Wow! This one brings back a lot of memories from fall of 1965. It was the follow-up to sam the sham & the pharoah's monster hit, wooly bully. Ju hand was crazy fun & got a lot of radio play on radio in my area of eastern oklahoma/western arkansas. It hit the airwaves when I was a freshman in college and was popular on jukeboxes in college taverns of the area. Wild drinking song. Haa! What does it mean? Yoko maka? Hubu bakwa? Ju hand! Yes, I had the record too (actually, it was my brother's record, but I took it when I left for college) and sam the sham's first 2 albums. I think it was meant for people to have crazy fun listening to & to leave the serious stuff for another time.
