Amor eterno e inolvidable tarde o temprano
Estare contigo para seguir amandonos

Yo he sufrido tanto por tu ausencia

Amor eterno e inolvidable tarde o temprano
Estare contigo para seguir amandonos

Hearing this song was meant for her brother who passed makes me even more emotionally connected to this song. I feel the lyrics. Because I am always thinking of the past when he was still here. Of yesterday. Knowing we could have done more for someone after they are gone, it seems like our conscience can't help but dwell on the guilt of being the one left alive. To me, it is this same guilt that keeps us from really living (not just existing) after the suffering and pain of losing someone so close.

For me personally, I feel as though I never really allowed myself to adequately grieve the loss of my mother. By putting his feelings into words, Juan Gabriel helped not only himself to grieve, but he is also helping me and others to do the same. Hearing the song, especially when performed by Rocio Durcal, usually manages to bring a tear or two to my eyes.
