Waste away
I'm crawling blind
Hollow by what I left inside
For you, just you
I'm caught in place
But I ignore what I can't erase
I will run and hide till memories fade away
And I will leave behind a love so strong [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/r/red/hide.html ]
Close my eyes these voices say
Haunting me, I can't escape
For you, just you
Time will always wait
While I throw away what I can't replace
I will run and hide till memories fade away
And I will leave behind a love so strong [x2]
I will run and hide!
And I will leave behind!
I will run and hide till memories fade away
And I will leave behind a love so strong!
Adam and eve come to mind when i think of this song. Both verses could reflect on what was running through their minds at the moment they realized they had sinned. Some people think that being a christian is mostly based on doing the right thing and “living holy”, but its so much more. The chorus speaks upon an “action” taking place. Adam and eve hid from god, they felt that they couldn’t be in his presence, and most likely they wished they could erase their past mistakes, (“i will run and hide till memories fade away... ” )
I almost think that he's meaning to run away and hide from god like jonah. He says: "i will run and hide till memories fade away, and i will leave behind a love so strong. " what stronger love is there than god? He acknowledges that god is everything (for you, just you, time will always wait... For you just you i'm caught in place) but still doesn't turn to him for it (but i can't ignore, what i can't erase... While i throw away what i can't replace).
