Rammstein delves into all aspects of the human condition. Sometimes it's joyful; more often painful. Some humans are in very sick mental condtion; some are in love. Each song tells a story about a character and that character's life experience, feelings, etc. So, song topics range from love songs to abandonment, torture, and even addiction. Some are simply humorous, which i find brilliant, as it is the ultimate way to deal with this experience we, as humans, find ourselves in. Besides that, the songs are very well written, haunting at times, and performed immpeccably. All of it; the writing, the acting/performing of these story songs, the pyrotechnics, etc. ; rammstein is more of an experience than just a band. It is a commentary on us. Also, the music style ranges from heavy metal in some songs, to techno in others, to baroque guitar in still others. Some even incorporate ancient, haunting germanic fables and myths. Their videos are produced with the same quality as extremely expensive movies, using special effects of all kinds, and again employing their amazing acting ability. The lead singer, till lindemann, is the most talented actor of the group, literally becoming the character of each song. They've done songs and themes for movies like the matrix ("stripped"). There has never been a band quite like the german band rammstein, and there never will be again. To see their artistic bravery, intelligence, and musical prowess, you need go no further than to youtube to check out their videos. Their song/video "amerika" (with the most viewings) should be your first choice, and you'll get it, although rammstein is not for everyone! Thanks for reading!
