Powerwolf – Panic In The Pentagram lyrics

The night dies in the morning
And hell is gone at dawn
He sent no bible warning
Forsaken and forlorn

The night was wild
Black magic has it's price
Remember me?
You'll meet the devil twice!

In the morning when I wake
No more souls are left to take
And I wonder why I'm here

The sun is up, it's almost nine
And I'm standing in a sign
I feel a slowly rising fear

In a circle did I sleep?
Had I blasphemies to keep?
The scent of sulphur in the air

Hail, hail pentagram
Hail, hail pentagram
God damnit
What have I done?

Panic... Panic in the pentagram
Panic... Satanism ain't no fun
Oh... Panic in the pentagram
Oh... Panic in the pentagram

I count my cash, it's six six six
Enough to cross the river Styx
I pay to Cerberos the fare

On the altar I could dance
Put your soul in deadly trance
But I better should beware

Hail, hail pentagram
Hail, hail pentagram
God damnit
What have I done?

Panic... Panic in the pentagram
Panic... Satanism ain't no fun
Oh... Panic in the pentagram
Oh... Panic in the pentagram

Recently, my one-act team has preformed the play "After Midnight, Before Dawn". After we preformed it for our community, and getting an awkward and stunned silence afterwards, I realized that there was a dark similarity between it and this song.
Panic in the Pentagram and After Midnight, Before Dawn share several characteristics. The turning to Satan is the most noticeable one. Panic is also very noticeable. People turn to Satan out of desperation, hoping for something. After the people commit deeds, they realize something is wrong. The song mentions "What have i done?" This is almost identical to how the Man feels in the play after killing an innocent girl, or the rest of the cast after killing the witch out of rage. Following this there is panic, when nobody can remember even how to pray the Lord's prayer. The cast begin to realize that "Black Magic has it's price", especially the Man and the young Boy.
I guess, the main theme I see in this song is summed up with the line, "Satanism is no Fun", especially when comparing it to "After Midnight, Before Dawn". After giving your soul, there is nothing left except fear, and panic ensues.
