Pernice Brothers – Saddest Quo lyrics

There's a train wreck
Picking up survivors from a plane crash
On the tv live
And it's a sad, status quotient

Trying to be a better person...
Hindsight's 20 and my visibility is worsening
All the accolytes are choking
But my faith in life's unbroken
Want to leave this room better than I found it
Love my neighbor
When I feel like I couldn't even give a shit

All the hypocrites are choking
On their blind faith far from broken

There's a train wreck
Picking up survivors from a plane crash

On the tv live
And it's a sad, status quotient
Waiting for the sky to fall

It's getting hard to sleep when I lay my head down
{something something}
Till my part to execute a sleeping town.
All the accolytes are choking
On their blind faith far from broken

There's a train wreck
Picking up survivors from a plane crash
On the tv live
And it's a sad, status quotient
Waiting for the sky to fall

{a lot of something something}

... Cruelest joke
My ancient thoughts feel new

    The way I interpret this song is related to my mental illness. There's all these terrible things happening, and it's so sad that it's so easy for it to change you. You see people being hurt and you can't help but wait for the same things to happen to yourself. For me, this song really comes from a place of fear. But also, a place of hope, and not wanting to give up on life.
