{Verse 1}
If I'm a bad person, you don't like me
Well I guess I'll make my own way
It's a circle, a mean cycle
I can't excite you anymore
Where's your gavel? Your jury?
What's my offense this time?
You're not a judge, but if you're gonna judge me,
Well sentence me to another life

{Bridge}
Don't wanna hear your sad songs
I don't wanna feel your pain
When you swear it's all my fault
'Cause you know we're not the same (Yeah! )
We're not the same (Yeah! )
Oh we're not the same
Yeah, the friends who stuck together
We wrote our names in blood
But I guess you can't accept that the change is good (Hey! )
It's good (Hey! )
It's good (Hey! )

{Chorus}
Well you treat me just like another stranger
Well it's nice to meet you sir
I guess I'll go
I best be on my way out

You treat me just like another stranger
Well it's nice to meet you sir
I guess I'll go
I best be on my way out

Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend

{Verse 2}
And this is the best thing that could've happened
Any longer and I wouldn't have made it
It's not a war, no, it's not a rapture
I'm just a person, but you can't take it
The same tricks that, that once fooled me
They won't get you anywhere
I'm not the same kid from your memory
Well, now I can fend for myself

{Bridge}
Don't wanna hear your sad songs
I don't wanna feel your pain
When you swear it's all my fault
'Cause you know we're not the same (No! )
We're not the same (No! )
Oh we're not the same
Yeah, the friends who stuck together
We wrote our names in blood
But I guess you can't accept that the change is good (Hey! )
It's good (Hey! )
It's good

{Chorus}
Well you treat me just like another stranger
Well it's nice to meet you sir
I guess I'll go
I best be on my way out

You treat me just like another stranger
Well it's nice to meet you sir
I guess I'll go
I best be on my way out

Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend

Well you treat me just like another stranger
Well it's nice to meet you sir
I guess I'll go
I best be on my way out

You treat me just like another stranger
Well it's nice to meet you sir
I guess I'll go
I best be on my way out

    This song is about a friend of the Hayleys. This friend judges her out of ignorance. Most people walk around saying they don't like this or that. And they blame the thing they don't like, they call it bad. But that's just their opinion, and causes a big wall between people sometimes.
    For instance: Why can't she excite them anymore? Is that really her problem? Why should she be put down for that. Maybe if that other person paid closer attention, they'd see many more interesting things about her.
    She is saying, if we are friends, why do you treat me harshly like you would treat a stranger with your hurtful judgements? Why can't you accept me as I am if we are friends? That's fine if that's how you want to be, but she doesn't have any time for this person.

    Ohh I forgot one thing. After I said the part where she tries sohard to pull the lightbulb on the other members. She can't because the lightbulb won't go that far. That's basically saying the spotlight is on hayley not the other band members. Please don't put thins in the negative area because it ois the truth. Watch the music video. And I'm so tired of people saying that the song is about two people who hate each other. It not.!

    Hayley Williams recently did this interview and in it she said that Josh came up with riff, and everyone liked it so people came up with their own parts on the spot, they got it recorded and hayley took it home and started putting lyrics together.
    She says that this song is about the band. And when they were having problems as a band (when they cut the european tour short) and how these problems are still there within them, and this was how she felt.
    She also states that putting together Brand New Eyes, was the best theraoy they could have gotten as a band, because it made them see each through Brand New Eyes.

    This song is about when Paramore were about to break up, Josh had wrote the music for it and hayley took it home and wrote these lyrics about how nothing was working anymore and how much strain they we're under, she then preformed it for them a couple of days later but mumbled it because she felt a little shy about what she had wrote as it was all her feelings towards the other band members at that time because they created Paramore for fun as they were all friends but it didn't feel like fun anymore it felt like a buisness and it wasnt working. Jeremy asked Hayley what it was about and she didn't say but that caused them to talk about what was affecting them and they made up and now they are strong and friends again and Paramore are back :)

    I hate you all. How about writing about the song's meaning, not just fapping over how great Hayley is?
    The line "Well sentence me to another life" makes me think Hayley's speaking to an all-powerful being. A creator who is supposedly responsible for her life, like God.
    A lot of other lines, like the entire second verse among others, suggest that Hayley may have changed her views regarding this god, and she thinks that this is a good, freeing thing.
    There are a lot of lines about her bandmates' reactions to her losing faith, and a lot of lines that are her dealing with their objections. There are also portions that seem to be Hayley angrily chastising God for creating her flawed and blaming her for messing up.
    Just thought I'd toss that speculation out there.
