And when we get home, I know we won't be home at all
This place we live, it is not where we belong
And I miss who we were in the town that we could call our own
Going back to get away after everything has changed
(Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive?)
Everything has changed
(Do you remember that? Do you remember that?)
Everything has changed
(Could you help me push aside all that I have left behind?)
Everything has changed
(Do you remember that? Do you remember that?)
So we stand here now and no one knows us at all
I won't get used to this
I won't get used to being gone
And going back won't feel the same if we aren't staying
Going back to get away after everything has changed
(Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive?)
Everything has changed
(Do you remember that? Do you remember that?)
Everything has changed
(Could you help me push aside all that I have left behind?)
Everything has changed
(Do you remember that? Do you remember that?)
It's taking up our time
It's taking up our time
It's taking up our time
It's taking up our time
We can't go back we can't go back at all
It's taking up our time
We can't go back we can't go back at all
It's taking up our time
We can't go back we can't go back at all
It's taking up our time, taking up our time
Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive?
Do you remember that? Do you remember that?
TamariGirl has pretty much nailed it. Like bella said... they're all from franklin.
i think it's way simpler than everyone else is trying to make it out to be.
After you become famous and you're touring and you totally change your life, coming home is never the same. it's not the place you left. and the people you left are gone, and the people there don't treat you like family, you're celebrities "so we stand here now and no one knows us at all". than you spend the whole time trying to live your childhood homelife. trying to be the people you were "when we were so alive"
going home has lost all joy. it's just a reminder of who they were when life was simpler. funny how they probably lived they're entire time in franklin trying to get out, and be rockstars, than years later all they want is their old town back.
reminds me that moving forward is always an option... but you can never go back.
I think It's about two people who ended they're relationship a long time a go and got it back but it's not the same anymore. And They're trying to remeber how they used to feel.
"Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive".
