{Verse 1}
We still live in the same town, well, don't we?
But I don't see you around anymore
I go to all the same places, not even a trace of you
Your days are numbered at 24
And I'm getting bored waiting 'round for you
We're not getting any younger, and I
Won't look back 'cause there's no use
It's time to move forward
{Chorus}
I feel no sympathy
You live inside a cave
You barely get by the rest of us, you're trying
There's no need to apologize
I've got no time for feeling sorry
{Verse 2}
But I try not to think of what might happen
When your reality, it finally cuts through
Well as for me, I got out and I'm on the road
The worst part is that this (This)
This could be you [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/p/paramore/feeling_sorry.html ]
You know it too, you can't run from your shame
You're not getting any younger, time
It's passing by, but you waited awake
It's time to roll over
{Chorus}
I feel no sympathy
You live inside a cave
You barely get by the rest of us, you're trying
There's no need to apologize
I've got no time for feeling sorry
{Bridge}
And all the best lies
They are told with fingers tied
So cross them tight
Won't you promise me tonight
If it's the last thing you do, you'll get out?
{Chorus}
I feel no sympathy
You live inside a cave
You barely get by the rest of us, you're trying
There's no need to apologize
I've got no time, got no time
I feel no sympathy
You live inside a cave
You barely get by the rest of us, you're trying
There's no need to apologize
I've got no time
I've got no time for feeling sorry
I've got no time for feeling sorry
I see something totally different in this song. It reminds me of some one she loves going jail. "your days are numbered at 24" meaning there are only few weeks till a sentencing. "we still live in the same town, well, don't we? But i don't see you around anymore. I go to all the same places, not even a trace of you. " this shows the person was obvioulsy a friend of hers from in the same area, i assume she may have known for them a long time but hast seen in them a while. Also " you live inside a cave" im guessing this lyric represents that the person its about is ashamed and feeling sorry for him self and never out and about anymore. She dosnt feel sorry for the persons actions but wants them to know she cares. The lyric "i try not to think of what might happen,
when your reality, finally, cuts through" symbolises that she is worried about the consequences her friend will have to face. "and all the best lies, they are told with fingers tied! So cross them tight, won't you promise me tonight if it's the last thing you do, you'll get out" expresses they should lie the best they can cause she dosnt want them to go. But she knows it inevitable so she makes them promise they will get out of jail. I truly love this song, definately one of their best!!
This is a painted scenario where hayley or anyone in general wants their friend to stop living in whatever misery they're in, and to get back into the real world. This "friend" has probably taken his misery passed the limit to the point where it just seems pathetic, since hayley wrote "i feel no sympathy. "
Its saying to continue living your life.. N that theres no time for others to pity you and u have to get out of your cave and face the world.. Love this band :)
