Panic! At The Disco The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage lyrics

(Verse One)
Sit tight I'm gonna need you to keep time
Come on just snap, snap, snap your fingers for me
Good, good now we're making some progress
Come on just tap, tap, tap your toes to the beat

And I believe this may call for a proper introduction
And well don't you see,
I'm the narrator and this is just the prologue

(Chorus)
Swear to shake it up if you swear to listen!
Oh, we're still so young,
Desperate for attention.
I aim to be your eyes,
Trophy boys,
Trophy wives.
(X2)

(Verse Two)
Applause! Applause!
No wait, wait.
Dear studio audience I've an announcement to make.
It seems the artists these days are not who you think,
So we'll pick back up on that on another page

And I believe this may call for a proper introduction
And well don't you see I'm the narrator and this is just the prologue

(Chorus)
Swear to shake it up if you swear to listen!
Oh we're still so young,
Desperate for attention.
I aim to be your eyes,
Trophy boys,
Trophy wives.
(X2)

(Music break)

(Synthesizers)

Swear to shake it up,
You swear to listen.
(X3)

Swear to shake it up...
Swear to shake it up!

(Chorus)
Swear to shake it up if you swear to listen!
Oh we're still so young,
Desperate for attention.
I aim to be your eyes,
Trophy boys,
Trophy wives.

Swear to shake it up if you swear to listen!
Oh we're still so young,
Desperate for attention.
I aim to be your eyes...

I'm pretty sure this is talkig about how much we idolize famous people when they're not always that special. Just them and they're "trophy wives" and what not. And how they're not really what we make them upto be.

I have to agree with lpluv on the thing with patrick stump of fall out boy sounding like brendon urie of panic! At the disco. I was playing a few songs for my guitar teacher the other day, and i played "london beckoned songs about money written by machines", and he asked if it was by fall out boy. I actually never noticed until he mentioned it, but they do sound alike!

Anyway...

I think this song goes with "i constantly thank god for estabon" ... Or something like that, i usually get that last word/name (? ) wrong. Both of the songs seem to be talking about the music industry and how it's not so great as people would believe.

I think its hilarious how their song really doesn’t relate to their lyrics name. I love panic! At the disco. Their music always has a interesting beat and tune to it that i love.
