Of Mice & Men – Second & Sebring lyrics
I believe it's time for me to be famous,
And out of place.
I
believe it's time for me to move forward,
When I break through.

This time I'll make you,

Proud to see me overcome all day life.

Proud of, who you raised.

Your shelter, your peacefulness.

So this time I'll make you proud.

Proud of who you
raised up.
You know that I will
Always be here till' the end.

Come back so I can say thank you for this,
Home cooked meals and a place
to rest,
My troubled head when you're away,
I've passed the test, I've earned an A,
Not just in school, but in life,
You'll
always be right by my side.
To help me show, hope to all,
That are
lost and sick in this dying world.
I'll use the love you left behind,
I'll change their minds, I'll change their minds.

I hope, I hope you smile,
When you look down on me.
I hope you smile
.

This can't,
We won't know.
I hope that I make you proud.

This is
not what it is, only baby scars.
I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side.
This is not what it is, only baby
scars.
I need your love like a boy needs his mother's
side.

This is not what it is, only baby scars.
I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side, Yeah.

I've listened to this song so many times but I saw a top comment on YouTube a few minutes ago, and it said that it was about austin's mom who died, so I looked the lyrics up to actually listen and read them and when it got to the "this is not what it is only baby scars, i need you love like a boy needs his mothers side" I was literally in tears. I had goosebumps and tears streaming down my face. It's unbelievable how one guy has the ability to touch so many people with just one song. I'll be honest, I cried like a baby listening to this, and actually knowing what it means now. Austin is absolutely amazing.

Of mice and mens song second and sebring is written about austins mother who passed away when he was a teenager, and about how he feels since her death. It is an amazing song and austin and the rest of om&m are the best. My favorit band, one of my favorite songs. -this is not what it is only baby scars, I need you love like a boy needs his mothers side. Can't wait to see them this summer.

Carlile was born in pensacola, florida. He moved to ohio during his teenage years and remained there until his 20s, but currently resides in hollywood, california. Carlile's mother died just as he joined attack! In 2007. His mother passed by the same heart problem he has today, called marfan syndrome, which is a genetic disorder of the connective tissue and causes the aortic artery to swell. The of mice & men song "second & sebring" is about his mother and how she has been a major influence in his musical career from the start.

It is about his mother. She passed away and he wants her to come back to show her how good he is doing in life. He wants to make her proud. Which I am sure she is proud of him because she is looking down on him. And he is also thanking her for all she did for him. And saying that he loves her. And is grateful for her.

If you ever read this austin. I believe your mother is proud, proud to see that one of the few left in the world to care for someone who has lost their lives. Its tragic to hear of your loss and you current condition. I know this comment may not mean much. But I give you my condolences. You have encouraged me at most to finish my song I've been writing about a friend I lost. Not just to him but to all that have had their lives taken. Thankyou.

    This song reminds me.
Of one of my best friends who commited
suicide. She was such an amazing person and was kind to everyone she came in contact with. We first became friends after she stood up for me when I was being bullied in middle school. It's hard to know she's gone now. But after hearing this song and knowing that austin went through a similar thing, I know I can carry her in my heart. I can show people the kindness she showed me. Thank you austin. I hope to one day meet you and show you how much I admire you(: -ashley leanne reavis winder, ga.

Second and sebring was played on repeat for weeks when I moved to the middle of nowhere. I didn't have anyone but family and while my mother constantly tried to comfort me, I turned her away. I ended up cutting and I do regret shutting her out. My mother has always tried to be there for me and after listening to this song as many times as I did, I decided to make a change. I'm now 3 months clean and building a relationship with my mother. I am truly grateful to have her in my life. Without her I wouldn't have anything.

This is a really great song, I believe it is talking about someones parents, or mother/father dying, and just how important ones parent truly are if they admit it or not, just how big of an impact it has on ones life and childhood, I don't know where I would be if I was to lose one of my folks, its talking about the struggle one goes threw, think about if you lost one of your parents who would be there to teach you things. Like your mother's with compassion you don't get the same compassion for your father as your mother. And your father can teach you certain things your mother could not, its just one big struggle for a child to grow up in a single parent house hold.

I believe this song has many different meanings it just depends on how you take it I guess. To me it means just to make your parents proud. He says "i'll make you proud. Proud of, who you rasied up. " he also says he has made and a in life which to me means he got through all the hard parts in life, and now just wants his parents to be proud of him for how good he thinks he has done. He says he wants to show hope to all and I believe that he just wants everyone to know they can be succesful in life as long as they are truly satisfied with who they have become. Then he says i'll use the love you left behind. And I hope you smile when you look down on me. Which I'm guessing means that his mother or parents died and he just took there love for granted and never realized what he had til it was gone. Then. My favorite verse. "this is not what it is, only baby scars. We need your love like a boy needs his mother's side" this one is a little bit more tricky to figure out b/c the wording is a bit difficult. But in my mind it means. This is not the same old awful person I use to be, and I'm guessing when he says baby scars. He means he has been scared with a lot of bad things in the past but he doesn't care b/c they are only minor wounds. Then we need you love like a boy needs his mothers side. Its like when people leave our lifes forever we start to miss there love and like I said before kind of take that love for granted. Well this is what I think hope you get something out of that.

I'm getting older, and though I try to do my best in life, no matter how much I eff up and fail, my mom always understands and loves me. And though I don't say thank you as much as I should, I hope she understands why. This song is very, very personal and a brave and heartfelt thing to put out there. And we should all be the better because of it. Thank you to all in of mice and men.

From what I have figured out, he was a good kid, but his mom was never proud of what he did. Now that she is gone, however, he is putting his heart and soul into what he does to make sure that, no matter what, she is proud of him, even though she is gone. He also wants to thank her for all that she has done for him, even though he might not have done that while she was still alive.
