Roxy works in a movie theatre as an usher.. hence the reference to the flashlight, and getting bubble gum on her knees when kneeling down between seats.. I assume to pick up something a patron dropped.

I don't know the exact meaning. The wife of Nick Gilder explained it to me years ago but I don't have a full recollection of the details.

Basically it is about a young pretty girl who works as an usher at a Movie Theatre.

Roxy is a direct descendant of Daddy Warbucks and her grandmother is orphan Annie. Roxy's Daddio warbucks to the third power junior continued bilking punjab and the govt of India for millions of rupees. Roxy posing as a sappy bimbo with 5 bob job and bumblegum on her knee was able to cleverly pass the keys to Daddios vault to a treasurer of the India consulate. Thus recouping the funds thru her high rolling connections.
