Still falling
Breathless and on again
Inside today
Inside me today
Around broken in two
Til your eyes share into dust
Like two strangers turning into dust
Til my hand shook with the weight of fear
I could possibly be fading
Or have something more to gain
I could feel myself growing colder
I could feel myself under your fate
Under your fate
It was you, breathless and torn
I could feel my eyes turning into dust
Into strangers, turning into dust
Turning into dust
Turning into dust

I actually think this song is a metaphor for meeting your soul mate and falling in love, becoming one force in the universe!

Fate causes them to cross paths so... they meet as strangers,

then become intertwined after falling in love and coexist as one ...

two strangers are gone and one energy remains. There is no longer a you and I, just us!

for me it is about the end of love...a love that was always meant to be. She will die, fade without this love and return to a cold nothingness and there is nothing she can do about it for he is scared. This song, her voice...they make me cry!

This song like so many others is about the inevitable death that will claim us all. She is not entirely scared by this. Death is an end and a begining. Hope Sandoval is as beautiful as this song could ever hope to be.
