I bet you're wondering how I knew
That this would come to an end
He stole your heart from you
So you tossed me out to the wind

I keep pretending not to care
Oh the winter scent in her hair
Compels my hands to do
The things my heart wouldn't dare

I'll keep holding on to you
See no use perfecting lives with strangers
If only you, if only now

And in the twilight of this hour
When fools are mistaken for men
This shadow suits me well
My regrets are faced in the end

I'll keep holding on to you
See no use perfecting lives with strangers
If only you, if only now (x2)

She sounds like a lil bitch to me to be honest, but I feel like I'm both the girl and guy in this scenario, namely the song. Left the one I loved because I couldn't cope, ended up feeling exactly how this guy feels because he settled and I was left uneasy with emotion. This is what it means. He'll never let her go because everyone is a stranger to him, he knew her, loved her, they were each other's someone, but now she's gone and he feels as though the world doesn't know him nor will he let anyone in because he's emotionally attached to his lover. It's too bad she'll never know this, right? She's off discovering love again with someone else and he's moping and holding on to the memory of her and making love to women who remind him, only he's doing it out of his love for her. Kind of creepy, honestly. In the end he just gives up and goes on to sulk about being alone and loving her and all that. Someone should make the woman's perspective of this song happen. Overall, I love this tune; little joy's lyrics really, really penetrate the soul.

it could be about how a girl left the boy she loved for the one she liked.
he tries not to care and forget about the scent of her hair. he doesn't want to try to make it work with someone else when its her he loves

    Yeah good points here

1st verse - the inevitable. Not being able to control smething as its happening right n=in front of you

2nd verse- the "i keep pretending not to care" to me, means these things he's doing with his hands arent with the one he's supposed to be doing them with in his mind at least

1st chorus- not being able to let something go
not wanting to be with someone else

3rd verse- he realize he made a big mistake because now he has lost both people. Same people thing happen to me. Fab is a great musician and a brilliant lyricist and amazing drummer! This song hits so close to home for me. Megan , if you ever see this... I will always love you

Yes, i think so too. Its a really melancholy song. I like it so much. Not because i could identify with this, but i know this mood so much. The sound an this beatiful voice go just into my soul. When i hear it i feel a little understood. You know what i mean? It seems like it's written from heard with much emotions. Not just for fun. This is what i like.
