Pray for blood
Pray for the cleansing
Pray for the flood
Pray for the end of this nightmare
This lie of a life can as quickly as it came dissolve
We seek only reprieve
And welcome the darkness
The myth of a meaning, so lost and forgotten
Take hold of my hand
For you are no longer alone
Walk with me in hell
Pray for solace
Pray for resolve
Pray for a savior
Pray for deliverance
Some kind of purpose, a glimpse of a light in this void of existence [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/l/lamb_of_god/walk_with_me_in_hell.html ]
Whooaaa...
Now witness the end of an age
Hope dies in hands of believers
Who seek the truth in the liar's eyes
Take hold of my hand
For you are no longer alone
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Take hold of my hand
For you are no longer alone
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
You're never alone
You're never alone
You're never alone
You're never alone
You're never alone
Walk with me in hell
This song is for somebody seeking for enlightenment (truth/knowledge etc.. ) because everyone grew up with lies, & there is somebody or a group of people or whatever (religion/government etc.. ) that keeps feeding us lies eversince the early civilizations were made. It is very well said that the myth of the meaning is lost & forgotten. Facts & science & better understanding of our existence proves that stories made are lies (books/scriptures etc... ). This somebody or a group of people or whatever (religion/politics etc.. ) implies that knowledge is evil & this was said with authority so that people cant question. But for those who are enlightened, the age (aeon) will die. Astrologically, new aeon will come. And hope will die for the people who puts their faith on people that plays gods in today's world. Enlightened ones were said to be evil so it has been said they belong in hell. Now, for somebody seeking for the truth, take hold of my hand, for you are no longer alone, walk with me in hell.
This song is a masterpiece. The music (guitars, bass, drums) is very well architect-ed. & the lyrics is some kind of deep but can easily be understands. Hope you enjoy the song the way i do

It reminds me of one being dragged to hell in the afterlife.
But on the line "now witeness the end of an age" it makes me me think of the fact that the age of believers is over and we've all turned to only math and science for answers.
I am sooo addicted to this song.
It allows me to no longer battle my inner demons but make friends with them.

I personally think that whereas the above meanings are close, i think that the nightmare is not not knowing the answers, it's knowing some awful truth, the good truth has died and so all left of this world is helll
I think metalhedscot and newellhp are the most on point. The first thing i thought when i heard this song is religion because he says you should pray for forgiveness and the flood and to end the nightmare (the nightmare is not knowing who to turn to for answers). Also a key verse in the song is "some kind of purpose, a glimpse of light in his void of darkness". What he's saying is that there are many out there who feel alone because they want the true meaning to life, not a bunch promises and rules written by men who may well have been a bunch of crazy-ass schitzophrenics thousands of years ago. He wants us all to pray not to go to heaven but to pray to find others alike us searching for answers in the depths of despair, to find unity among the lost.
I love this song, kicks ass, the way i see it the song is about how you are never alone no matter were you go. By the way, log, you don't have to be a badass or a reject to love metal, hell i'm no reject and i surely am not some badass, but i love metal and always will, hell i fell bad for the people who chose to listen to rap, that not music that just some tiny beats mixed together with horible rhyming
Hey log you contradicted yourself. You said an i quote "this is not about being alone in hard times. " and then you went on to say "this song is an invitation to let all the badasses and rejects know that they aren't alone and only metal rules" you are saying that it isn't about being alone although you say that the meaning of this song is to let screw-ups know they aren't alone. Good job there.
I personally just listen to the song because it's a great song, i don't really know the meaning i just listen to it because i like it.
I like ur take metalheadscot, good sir. But i think that what it means to the band and what it means to the listener can be and most often are 2 very different things. Thats whats so great about music, the artist creates it but we all own what it means to us.
Besides i think its obvious that this song is about a lazy sunday spent nestled up with loved ones watching "friends". That and satan
This is not about being alone in hard times. In case you haven't noticed lamb of god is not a feel good cheery band. People that listen to them(including me) have had more troubles than normal in their lives and turn to metal. This song is an invitation to let all the badasses and rejects know that they aren't alone and only metal rules
