    I guess it's the feeling when the person finally sees the reality of the situation they're in. It's like when you graduate college, you suddenly "hit hard" because now that you're out of a university, you're now out in the real world where you're gonna live your life on your own without anyone's help. Every decision you make is all up to you. And through there, you're gonna have to bear with the consequences through every decision you make. And that's really hard to accept because you really have to be careful with the choices you make because those choices can affect anything in your life.

    I think that this song meant a lot to Katy because she had now awaken. I also think that it has something to do with her career. It seems so unreal and she didn't understand what is going on with her life. Now she had finally understand something and was not falling so hard. I think that is why she wrote it. She did it to tell everybody that she had finally understand.

    In my opinion, the song wide awake by katy perry is about a young girl who shared worldwide that she is not interested. She is not able to move along in tranquility and harmony cause a woman potentially doesn't believe the girl is not interested. The young girl is wide awake and accepts that maybne this is bnettr than a c t you a l y having a fun day.

    This song is basically about trusting and loving someone blindly that you surrender yourself to them but in reality that person was just using you; didn't love you back and showed you his/her true colors which made you so upset that it felt like your life has ended. But now you're wide awake. Your mind has totally changed and this experience has made you strong and made you fill in the ugly holes in life and become a better person.

    The music video shows a lot about the meaning of this song. Katy grew up in a very religious household having two parents which were both pastors. Unfortunately satan got a hold of katy (the music industry/illuminati) and she sold her soul to the devil for fame and fortune. The song is simply explaining how she is finally awakened from the darkness and she can see the light. She knows that she failed god with her decision and he regrets it. Listen to the lyrics under this assumption and it makes complete sense. The butterflies, mirrors and swirling cat eyes explain the music industries use of monarch mind controll. It's very common to see artists now-a-days expressing their regrets for selling their soul. You can also see in the music video how the strawberry is a poison and the demons are stopping her from escaping the "institute" that she is trapped in. The younger "katy" in the video is her former self protecting her from the evil music industry. She is simply explaining how she wishes she could take it all back. Open your mind to subliminal messages. They are everywhere in today's society. Knowledge is power and god is love.

    This meaning is much deeper!
    This is not simply about missing being a kid, or a boyfriend, or a happy day.
    She is breaking out of the illusion. The "illuminati" is not one group. There are several. She is breaking out of the manipulation on the mind. The temptation of illusory, physical material objects & ways of life. She has been used to portray symbolism and deception to distract kids, youth and people from the truth and what is important in life.
    She is waking up and re-connecting to her higher self.

    I think it has a lot to do with her finding the lord again. The lyrics (especially in the second verse) are easily religious, and the whole song sounds like she was living a dream, until she woke up and realized that she left him behind. And now she's found him again. It could also be about her divorce but I think it has more to do with seeing what was right in front of her after she divorced russell (which was god).

    When she was young she believed in fairytales that she would one day find her prince charming and live happily ever after. In reality she let her guard down and allowed herself to be vulnerable to love. She was on cloud 9. But when that failed (she fell from cloud 9) she saw & felt the true reality of heartache. (her analogy to falling on concrete). When she found her inner child again, her fearlessness. She was able to pick herself up of the ground. She realized that no other person can make her dreams come true, only her. (she was blind) now that she sees the light she's able to live her dream a reality. She's not dreaming anymore (she's wide awake).
    Very powerful song. Way to go katy perry.

    I love katy perry! Speaking of katy perry, so excited about the katy perry part of me 3d movie, in 2 days! Anywhoo, what I think it means that when katy says I'm wide awake, I think she says, I'm more fousced now, I'm doig the right things, I'm wide awake. I love this song cuz it calming, and when I first heard this song, I just felt like crying, sense it would be such a sad song. >3 katys like my top idol, but micheal jackson is also like my top idol, and others, too. (especialally marliyn).

    This song is about her trying to free herself from the illuminati and the deal she made with the devil. She was a christian before all of the fame and I think she's trying to get back to that. There is a lot of symbolism (her eating the 'forbidden fruit', the hospital demons that her old self destroyed, the scene at 3: 03 where she's gripping the cross and crying out to god.), but it's nothing like her old videos. This is refreshing.

    I think former conservative katy perry has always questioned the music industry and the negative darker sided aspects many people don't notice (consider how mtv awards requires rock&roll horns of the celebs) . Russell brand quite frankly seems a bit occultist and perhaps he let her in enough; that she was changed forever by the knowledge of what some believe and she refuses to partake any longer. She is falling away from the night as she puts it and the 'born again' lyric just drives home this idiom, clearly standing for the light and no longer darkness. Just my two cents!

    It hurts me to say this because I grew up LOVING her voice and music. I do believe she is one of the MAJOR demons in the industry. This song is much deeper than any relationship. A lot of people say she’s singing about breaking free from the darkness but her lyrics CLEARLYYYYYY state “she needs nothing to complete herself” which is false we all need GOD! When she says she’s falling from cloud nine I believe she’s referring to satan falling from the sky and she keeps saying I’m letting you go assuming she’s talking about God. In the video she has so many symbols of Satan. It’s truly amazing how open she is with her music and no one catches it. It’s almost sickening.

    The only reason I know about this song is because my brother wanted it on his phone but he had to put it on my phone first because there was a problem with his connection and then he downloaded it from my phone to his phone and it was then on his phone and my phone and now I listen to it all the time it is my favorite song now.

    Omg! This song is amazing. And also probably the best music video I've ever seen. For those of you who haven't seen it, you should go check it out right now! I'm not katy perry's biggest fan but this song makes me admire her. And for that person who said "if your falling from cloud 9 you wouldn't be awake. You'd be dead" it's metaphoric. The whole concept of cloud 9 is metaporic.

In details of the prince on the horse, the prince is wearing a british army suit, representing russell brand. Second, when he asks katy to marry him he crosses his fingers behind his back.
