Dreaming With A Broken Heart lyrics

When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The waking up is the hardest part

You roll out of bed and down on your knees
And for a moment you can hardly breathe
Wondering was she really here
Is she standing in my room?

No, she's not
Cause she's gone, gone, gone, gone, gone.

When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The giving up is the hardest part

She takes you in with her crying eyes
Then all at once you have to say goodbye
Wondering could you stay my love
Will you wake up by my side?

No, she can't
Cause she's gone, gone, gone, gone, gone.

Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my, roses in my hands?
Would you get them if I did?

No, you won't
Cause you're gone, gone, gone, gone, gone.

When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The waking up is the hardest part.

This song is about the feelings associated with the end of a relationship. The speaker—assuming it’s a man—misses his former girlfriend. He dreams of her every night and says “waking up is the hardest part.” The most difficult aspect of a break up is waking from his dreams and being aware that his former girlfriend isn’t with him. When he is dreaming, everything is the way it was before she ended the relationship—he is happy. If he sleeps with roses in his hands, then in his dreams, he can give them to her and she will return to him. P6 rocks!

its about when things go wrong with somebody and then you meet then in your dreams and they're still alright and then when you wake up and realize that that person hates you...those are john's exact words about the song too

This song is about the realization and acceptance of the end of a relationship. The speaker wakes up, forgetting his relationship is over, then is hit with a rush of painful sadness. The woman he speaks of drags the break up out with her “crying eyes,” causing him much agony. He hopes she will stay with him, but he knows she will not. She breaks promises, toys with his heart, and doesn’t know what she wants. If he sleeps with “roses in [his] hand,” then while he is dreaming, he can give them to her. She will then understand his love for her. Even though he realizes there isn’t anything he can do to change how things are, dreaming of her is the only happiness he feels. Whoo hoo, Lee!

The realization that the end of a relationship is a fact, and acceptung it.

Remembering the good times , then dealing with the fact it wont ever be that way again, with this person.

Waking up, and momentarily forgetting its over, then it hits you with a rush of painful sadness.

She leads him on with "crying eyes" and drags the end out painfully, even though he has done all he can ,and given all he has.

She breaks promises , and doesnt know what she wants, as he hopes she will just stay, and be with him.
He knows she wont, and toys with his heart.

If he sleeps with roses in his hands, then dreaming with a broken heart, he can give them to her, so she will get them ,and understand he loves her.
In his dreams things are as they were.

He realizes there isnt anything he could do to change the way things are.

Still , dreaming of her is the only happiness he feels .

It's talking about the day after a breakup. And that day is the first day of single life and it hurts so much just to get up and live life without the one you really loved.
