I stare at my reflection in the mirror:
"Why am I doing this to myself?"
Losing my mind on a tiny error,
I nearly left the real me on the shelf.
No, no, no, no, no...

Don't lose who you are in the blur of the stars!
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing,
It's okay not to be okay.
Sometimes it's hard to follow your heart.
Tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising,
Just be true to who you are!

Who you are [x11]

Brushing my hair, do I look perfect?
I forgot what to do to fit the mould, yeah!
The more I try the less it's working, yeah
'Cause everything inside me screams
No, no, no, no, no...

Don't lose who you are in the blur of the stars!
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing,
It's okay not to be okay.
Sometimes it's hard to follow your heart.
But tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising,
There's nothing wrong with who you are!

Yes, no's, egos, fake shows, like BOOM,
Just go and leave me alone!
Real talk, real life, good luck, goodnight,
With a smile, that's my home!
That's my home, no...

No, no, no, no, no...
Don't lose who you are in the blur of the stars!
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing,
It's okay not to be okay...
Sometimes it's hard to follow your heart.
Tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising,
Just be true to who you are!
Yeah yeah yeah

"why am i doing this to myself? " when i heard this i originally though maybe its about self harm. Then as the song went i on and i heard the second verse i new it wasnt. "brushing my hair, do i look perfect? I forgot what to do to fit the mould, yeah! The more i try the less it's working, yeah
    'cause everything inside me screams
no... " when i heard this i thought maybe its about your brain thinking i have to look perfect i have to follow everyone else to fit it, but her heart 'inside' is saying no "be true to who you are"

Everybody makes mistakes-but those mistakes make you who you are. They make you stronger. Let them be who they really are because that's the one thing no one can take away from you. And remember that there's always someone who loves you no matter what. Just be true to who you are.

When times are tough don't give up, don't turn against yourself. You are who you are and you don't need to change. Nowadays all that seems to matter is the way you look but there is more to someone then that, you don't need to be like everyone else to be beautiful. Be true to yourself and accept who you are, don't follow the crowd, follow your heart.
