Jars Of Clay – Whatever She Wants lyrics

All her wants to fill a need
She wants to save you with
Her bandages after she makes
You bleed
Like a vampire, a parasite
Stretch the necks of her victims
She finds her prey in broad
So when you're up, she's down
You're down, she's up
It whips around, it's the ride
The way that she needs it

Whatever she wanted
For whatever you need
Speechless and silent
While she takes everything

Kryptonite underneathe
You used to be her superman
But now you're fading
Now you're weak
Never how or why
It worked to play the big lie
To dim the truth
From causing her wet eyes

[chorus 2x]

Everything... Yeah

She takes everything
Whatever she wants
It's everything

I've always maintained this abstract spiritual meaning of temptation and deception that corresponds with the women who subjected the likes of david or sampson to their alluring needs and tendancies.
The practical explaination that I come up with is the morbid and sometimes unknown side to codependancy. A lot times the codependant person is seen as a victim that is stuck in a situation. It is actually the other way around. In reality they are the vampire or parasite that needs the other so much they will drain them in the form of enabling their condition to keep them. The codependant person is the one who continues to enable the aggressor to get what they want. It's both a form of self fulfillment and self spiritual and emotional mutilation. In the end both sides are victims with one being the victimizing enabler.
