I love this song and think it's really sweet... The only part that really bugs me is when he says "And the one poor child that saved this world, and there's ten million more who probably could, if we all just stopped and said a prayer for them." Correct me if I'm wrong, but he is meaning Jesus when he sings that line. If I'm right about that, then he is wrong about the 10 million more. Jesus wasn't just the son of man, he is also the son of God. He is perfect. He is the only one who could have died for the sins of everyone in this world, because he is the only one who never sinned...
I think this song is about how this girl is trying to ignore and cover up the problems that she is having with her boyfriend but the boyfriend wants to confront their issues so they don't have to pretend like everything is okay anymore.
