These lyrics are all wrong and now they have become viral. It's "Marked Men, not machmen." Also, "I was in a car crash/it wasn't the war/but I've never been quite the same/little white lies like I was there (i.e., in the war)
and down in the park with a friend called 'fire'. Now it seems everyone posting lyrics, whether it be to the Numan, Manson, or Foo-Fighter versions post this tripe. Good going, tosser.
What a horrific landscape of the future Numan offers with this song, which was written over 30 years ago. Here we have an Arena (the Park) with androids killing humans or machines raping them (the Rape Machine) while the spectators lounge at Zom Zoms. This song was done way before "Bladerunner" and its still fresh and vibrant as when it was first released. Kudos to Randy Numan
