Flyleaf – Fully Alive lyrics
Telling Layla's story spoken
'Bout how all her bones are broken
Hammers fall on all the pieces
Two months in the cover creases

Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive
And she knows
How to believe in futures

All my complaints shrink to nothing
I'm ashamed of all my somethings
She's glad for one day of comfort
Only because she has suffered...

Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive
And she knows
How to believe in futures

Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive
And she knows
How to believe in futures

Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive
And she knows
How to believe in futures

Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive
And she knows
How to believe in futures

I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with her, but Lacey wrote the song because she was so impressed by Layla (wife of Kevin Palmer of Trust Company) and how she remains so positive and hopeful in whatever her obviously hard life brings her.
"All my complaints shrink to nothing" Lacey sees that this person has huge obstacles in her life and her own, which are smaller fade in comparison. It's about taking what you have, no matter how small it may be, and being appreciative and happy for it.

Hey guys. All your theory's are beautiful and touching, but, they're wrong. This is song is actually about a woman named Layla Palmer, the wife of the lead singer of the band Trust Company. She had/has a disease in which here bones break easily and she is often in pain. Lacey (Flyleaf's lead singer) was touched by the way she always acts happy and smiles even though her life is miserable, and it changed her perspective on life. So, that's the story. But good try everyone else.

Ready for one day of comfort. 2 months in the cover creases. To me sounds (and not saying it is what it means to anyone else or even to Lacey, but "to me" it is about depression and when you have one day of comfort and are able to get up out of bed and feel like living then that is being alive and Jesus Christ. The love of my husband and miracles are all that do this for me. God bless!

No you guys are wrong. She said at one of her concerts she met a girl names Layla. She said it was hard to look at her because of her burns she head stretched across her whole body. She said she told her the story of what happened to her and Lacie said she admired how she walked through day to day life seeing only the positive and the way she walked knowing everyone stares but still keep on going forward and loving life to it's fullest. Which I admire myself. ^_^.

Layla is alive and well in the South, in fact, in our hometown! She has a blog and mentioned that her husbands band toured with Flyleaf and she and this singer bonded. So, Layla is alive and well. I've met her and she is not only gorgeous on the outside but a love on the inside. And we may see her on Design Star one day in the near future on hgtv!

I tink this song is talking about someone she knows named layla. And how she is suffering more than her but she doesn't realize it. Also the chorus is touching I think its saying that she is going to be ready to smile and love life. Mabey that means eternal life. And also when it says. Fully alive now she knows how to believe in futures. That means she knows how to believe in the greatest future ever. Heaven. Theres a lot more I can say to this song but I'm running out of time.
