Remain Nameless lyrics

Florence And The Machine Remain Nameless lyrics

I was born in a big gray cloud
Screaming out a love song
All the broken chords and unnamed cries
What a place to come from

I wish to remain nameless
And live without shame
'Cause what's in a name, Oh
I still remain the same

You can call it what you want
You can call me anything you want
You can call us what you want
You can call me anything you want

Everybody lets you down
In this brief hole of a town
What a difference of the rushing out
Tell me what you're running from

I know everybody lets you down
I'll do the same
But know I'll always be around
This can remain the same

Call me when you need me
Call me anything you want
Darling, believe me
Nothing I haven't done before

Call me when you need me, call me when you need me
Call me when you need me
Darling, believe me, darling, believe me
Darling, believe me, darling believe me

Call me when you need me
Call me when you need me
Call me when you need me
Call me when you need me

Darling, believe me
Darling, believe me
Darling, believe me
Darling, believe me

Call me when you need me
Call me when you need me
Call me when you need me
Call me when you need me

Darling, believe me
Darling, believe me
Darling, believe me
Darling, believe me

Call me when you need me
Call me when you need me
Call me when you need me
Call me when you need me

Darling, believe me, darling believe me
Call me when you need me
Call me when you need me
Call me when you need me

I feel that this song is about being able to be who you are and not being judged.. She wants to remain nameless so as that she can do whatever she feels like without having shame. She's free to be the person that she wants to be.

Don't let labels define who you are. It's a factor in every aspect of life, such as sexuality.

"remain nameless" is my anthem. I live by this, religiously. Why label me, put a name on me because i'm different; i'm a lesbian, i'm black, i'm a christian, i'm a woman. Who the hell cares? 'call me when you need me" deeply resonantes with me, because now i'm needed for my love, for my shoulder to cry on, for a hand, for anything. I'm needed more than i need despite my differences or "place" in this world.

Too many labels on people and things, why do we need them? Remain nameless and let be what will be.

Is all about special feelings you feel with someone. That always remains. No matter what. U can not delete memories.

Something goes on between two.. One of them is just indecisive if they want the other or not.. The one being left feels broken, abused, misunderstood; after all what went through them.. And sings this song to make him understand that it might seem like its over, seeing that he ill-treated her.. But still deep inside she would be there for him.. And even if he doesn't remember her name or he doesn't want to she doesn't mind cause what happened between them at the end is all what counts.. This song reflects exactly what im living.

I think to sum it up, it shows the insignificance of a name. After all, don't names usually define who we are? She's implying that without carrying the burden of a name, she is free to roam and show who she truly is without the worry of a reputation. And she believes that she's not as pure as people make her out to be, because of her name, but she will always remain available to help others. Without the reputation, no one can see all the mistakes that she's made, and therefore, she can go about helping based on her honesty and experiences, rather than always worrying about being right and what others will think. I interpret this song as an attempt to identify the complexities of one's identity and how sometimes, people get so caught up in the name, in what they assume the person is, that they lose sight of the truth of that person and their background.

I think that its about someone that she loved and all they really did was use her but she loved him so much that she did anything for him!
