Five Finger Death Punch The Tragic Truth lyrics

I'm drowning in the bottom of a bottle
Running from a man I swore I'd never be
No one ever has to face tomorrow
But I'm the one who has to face me
It's the demons I've created for myself
The tragic truth
It's hard for me to understand myself
So it has to be hard as hell for you
For you
Are we born to be broken, sinners, and thieves
Someone tell the heavens that I'm ready to escape
This is not what I wanted not what I need
Take it all tear it all
Rip it all away
I can't say the Devil made me do it
I chose to be the one I am, the way I am today
I wish there was but there's no way around it
In the end I made the choice and will not die ashamed
I'ts the voices screaming in my head
The tragic truth
It's hard for me to understand myself
So it has to be hard as hell for you
You
Are we born to be broken, sinners, and thieves
Someone tell the heavens that I'm ready to escape
This is not what I wanted not what I need

I think that is the a military song because when must vets come back they look towards liguor more times then not and well the song says it the demons i've created for myself. He also does not want to face the truth.

The tragic truth seems to me to be a portrayal that no one is impervious to emotions and life. We all have demons and secrets. His emotions are conveyed well throughout the ffdp history. To discern the entirity of his emotions would be living too vicariously. The words can be applied to many scenarios if one opens their mind and their heart. Beautifully done.

I think it is about a drinking problem that he is ready to face and overcome

I like this song. It's a man admitting that he screwed up, acknowledging that it happens and refusing to feel ashamed for being human. He takes responsibility for his actions but instead of wallowing in self-pity he just says "screw that" and moves on. He knows he created the hell he's in and he knows he's going to get out.
